RIVERSIDE, Iowa — Riverside’s annual TrekFest kicked off Friday at Hall Park.
It’s dedicated to Star Trek fans, and is the Riverside Area Community Club’s largest fundraiser.
Money from the two day event funds scholarships and community programs like girl scouts.
People can go out for the meet and greet Saturday with two former Klingon characters.
Artists are also selling their work at the event.
“Riverside has their U. S. S Riverside, which is the copy of the USS Enterprise and they also have the craft, and they’re on trailers but I’ve taken some photographs and actually placed them in outer space,” said artist Michael York.
The 30th annual TrekFest wraps up Saturday night with fireworks at 10 o’clock.
