CEDAR RAPIDS — A fuel spill between the Wilson Avenue and Fifth Avenue exits on Interstate 380 slowed northbound rush hour traffic Wednesday.

The Iowa Department of Transportation said the right two lanes were blocked after 6 p.m. Images from traffic cameras showed a hazardous materials team on the scene cleaning up the spill.

TV9’s Beth Malicki reported the closed lanes caused traffic to back up for more than a mile.

The Iowa DOT said all lanes were back open to traffic as of 10:13 p.m.
