Three Arrested For Forging Checks At Iowa City Hy-Vee

IOWA CITY, Iowa — Three women were arrested Saturday for passing fake payroll checks at an Iowa City Hy-Vee.

Ladasha Harrell, Tashelle Campbell and Myosha Johnson allegedly passed at least eight checks over two days totaling several thousand dollars at the Hy-Vee on 1720 Waterfront Drive in Iowa City, according to a police report.

Hy-Vee staff called police when the three tried to pass a $944.69 check, according to the report. Hy-Vee has video of some of the transactions.

Forgery is a Class D felony if the writing aims to be the issuance of money.

No Hy-Vee employees were involved in the case.
