BELLEVUE, Iowa - A farm in Jackson County is without a feed storage building after a fire Wednesday afternoon.
The Bellevue Fire Department responded just after 4 p.m. for a structure fire in the 20000 block of 328th Ave.
Firefighters arrived at the farm of Scott & Tricia Holdgrafer and found a building covered in flames, according to a release from Fire Chief Kent Clasen.
Clasen says the fire was put out after 20 minutes, but firefighters remained for a litte more than an hour after that to put out hot spots.
Investigators determined the building and a 2012 Bobcat skid loader were a total loss, and estimated the damage at $120,000.
They say the fire started as a result of spontaneous combustion in a bunker containing hay.
No injuries were reported.
