Tama Man Accused Of Attempted Murder

TAMA, Iowa — A Tama man has been accused of attempted murder after a woman was stabbed Sunday morning.

According to a news release, the Tama Police Department responded to Jiffy South, 219 S. State St., at 6:12 a.m. Sunday. Responding officers encountered a man, identified as 39-year-old Eduardo Pesina, armed with a knife. Police said the victim was an adult woman.

Sgt. Jason Bina said the incident began earlier in the night with reports of a domestic incident. Bina said those incidents didn’t amount to enough to warrant charges at the time. Bina said he didn’t have any additional details on the case Monday afternoon.

Pesina was arrested and faces charges of attempted murder, stalking, intimidation with a dangerous weapon, carrying weapons, third-degree harassment and public intoxication.
