Shots fired in southwest Cedar Rapids

CEDAR RAPIDS — Cedar Rapids police are investigating shots being fired in the area of K Street and 13th Avenue SW.

According to police, the reports came in around 9:40 a.m. Friday. A bullet hole was found in a kitchen window of a home in the area, but no injuries were reported.

Officers investigating at the scene heard more shots being fired in the 1200 block of K Street. As they investigated door to door, they encountered a 17-year-old male who became uncooperative, then combative, with police. He was arrested and taken into custody.

At least two buildings in the area sustained damage, police say.
