MARSHALLTOWN (AP) An Iowa judge increased a Marshalltown man’s bond to $1 million after he was charged with killing his girlfriend’s 3-year-old daughter.
The Marshalltown Times-Republican reports the new bond amount for Branden Collins was set Saturday. One day earlier, he was charged with first-degree murder and child endangerment.
Authorities say Collins was watching Jossilyn Starn and two other children when Jossilyn was injured Wednesday.
Police said Collins grabbed Jossilyn by her arm and threw her to the floor. Polk County officials say Jossilyn died Friday as a result of head injuries.
Collins is also facing charges of marijuana possession and drug paraphernalia.
