A Marion man on the sex offender registry is accused of sending obscene materials to minors.

According to the Linn County Attorney’s Office, a 15-year-old girl received two photos on her cellphone depicting another 15-year-old engaged in a sex act. According to the criminal complaint, the photos were sent by Shelbi Bartling. Bartling’s phone was found in a vehicle registered to 38-year-old Kevin A. Jauron. The phone was found when police executed a search warrant, according to the county attorney’s office.

The criminal complaint does not explain who Bartling is or their relationshp to Jauron. Messages left with the Linn County Attorney’s Office were not returned Monday afternoon.

In addition to allegedly sending the photos, Jauron is accused of failing to register all of his Internet identities, as required by the Iowa Code.

According to the Iowa Sex Offender Registry, Jauron was convicted of harassing a teenage, minor girl in 2008.
