Man Imprisoned for Sioux City Hit-and-Run Crash
SIOUX CITY, Iowa (AP) A 43-year-old man has been given five years in prison for leaving the scene of a fatal collision in Sioux City last year.
The Sioux City Journal says Miguel Munoz-Sanchez was sentenced on Monday in Woodbury County District Court.
Police say Munoz-Sanchez, of Sioux City, on Aug. 30 ran a red light in his pickup and collided with a motorcycle driven by Jeremy Anderson. Anderson was fatally injured, and his passenger suffered broken bones and knocked-out teeth.
Police could not determine whether the truck struck the motorcycle or the motorcycle struck the pickup.
At his sentencing on Monday, Munoz-Sanchez said he left the scene because his wife and children were with him and were scared and crying. He later returned to the scene.
