Iowa City Police Say Coralville Man Sexually Assaulted Woman

By Lee Hermiston, Reporter

IOWA CITY, Iowa — A Coralville man faces up to 10 years in prison for allegedly sexually assaulting a woman last week.

Iowa City police have charged 24-year-old Landry W. S. Agonhoumey with third-degree sexual abuse, a Class C felony.

According to police, the victim reported that on May 16, she was asleep on a couch at an Iowa City residence. The woman told police she woke up to Agonhoumey having sex with her against her will. Agonhoumey held the woman down while forcing himself upon her, which caused the woman to suffer facial injuries, police said.

Police said evidence collected as well as officer observations corroborated the woman’s account. Agonhoumey told police he tried to get the woman “in the mood,” but said she resisted his advances, according to the criminal complaint.
