BURLINGTON, Iowa (AP) — A Fort Madison man faces a first-degree murder charge in the death of a Burlington man.

Forty-two-year-old Lenard “Ray” Polhans was arrested Sunday night following the afternoon shooting of 35-year-old Marvin Sutton.

Authorities say Sutton was shot in the chest following a domestic disturbance. Additional information has not been released.

The Burlington Hawk Eye reports Polhans is being held at the Des Moines County jail on $500,000 cash-only bond. Court records do not list an attorney. His next scheduled court appearance is June 12.
