AKRON, Iowa (AP) — An autopsy shows a northwest Iowa woman found dead inside a house alongside her husband died of blunt force injuries.

The Plymouth County Sheriff’s Office released the information Monday on 80-year-old Esther Neunaber, whose death has been ruled a homicide. More testing is needed to determine the cause and manner of death for 83-year-old Donald Neunaber.

The couple was found dead Wednesday in their home in rural Akron. Additional information has not been released.

The Sioux City Journal reports a man is being held Monday at the county jail on a material witness warrant. Authorities say he is not a suspect in the case and no charges have been filed.
