Authorities investigate arson at Luxemburg gas station

LUXEMBURG — The Dubuque County Sheriff’s Office is asking for help to find the person responsible for starting a fire earlier this week.

The New Vienna Fire Department responded around 4:50 a.m. Monday to Moser’s Gas Station in Luxemburg, according to a release from the Dubuque Law Enforcement Center. An employee opening the store called 911 after discovering the fire, which was put out after causing minimal damage.

Investigators determined someone broke into the business just before the employee arrived and intentionally set the fire with the intent of burning the entire structure.

Anyone with information is asked to call Dubuque/Jo Daviess Crime Stoppers at 1-800-747-0117 or 563-588-0714.
