OTTUMWA, Iowa (AP) — A judge has rejected an Iowa man’s request to delay his third trial in the 2012 death of his pregnant wife.

The Ottumwa Courier reports Judge Daniel Wilson rejected the request Wednesday morning. It was made in early May by an attorney for Seth Techel.

Techel is charged with first-degree murder and nonconsensual termination of a human pregnancy. His wife, Lisa, was several months pregnant when she was found shot in the couple’s trailer in southeast Iowa.

Techel’s first two trials ended in mistrials. A third trial is set for July 14 in Davenport.

The Iowa Supreme Court in April rejected a bid by Techel to have his bond reduced pending trial. He remains jailed.
