Two teens injured in Washington County rollover

  • Photo

WASHINGTON COUNTY A crash Thursday afternoon sent two teenagers to the hospital.

A crash report from the Iowa State Patrol says troopers responded just after 2:30 p.m. to a pickup that rolled over on 170th Street east of Tulip Avenue.

Investigators say 14-year-old Kathryn Gerot was driving and lost control, sending the vehicle into the north ditch. The truck rolled, ejecting Gerot and continued until it came to rest on its top in the south ditch.

Air Care took Gerot to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics with unspecified injuries. A passenger, 14-year-old Murphy Beinhart, was also injured and taken to Washington County Hospital.
