JO DAVIESS COUNTY, Ill. — A motorcycle rider had to go to the hospital after slowing down for traffic in front of him on Saturday.
Sheriff’s deputies responded at 3:25 p.m. for a report of a crash on West Council Hill Road a half-mile east of the intersection with North Birkbeck Road, which is about five miles north of Galena.
Authorities say 57-year-old Joseph Jans was riding his motorcycle on W. Council Hill Road when he slowed for vehicles ahead of him. Investigators say he lost control and entered the ditch when his motorcycle touched the edge of the road.
Jans was transported to Midwest Medical Center in Galena for treatment of his injuries.
