CEDAR FALLS, Iowa — A Waterloo man is in jail after police say he tried to break in to a garage early Wednesday morning.

Cedar Falls police say just after 4 this morning the resident at 1704 Grand Boulevard reported someone trying to break into the garage attached to his home.

When officers arrived, they say they caught 26-year-old Elijah Karns still trying to break in.

Karns is charged with attempted burglary in the second degree, a class “D” Felony, possession of burglar’s tools, an aggravated misdemeanor, and possession of drug paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor.

He’s held on $16,000 bond.
