One Person Dead after Readlyn Fire

READLYN, Iowa - The Bremer County Sheriff’s Office confirms that one person has died following a fire in Readlyn.
Deputies were called to the 100 block of West Third Street at 7:02 p.m. Sunday. When crews arrived, they found the residence was completely engulfed. The Readlyn Fire Department was able to extinguish the fire, but emergency crews found the body of one person inside the residence. That person was pronounced dead at the scene. Deputies say the body has been taken to the State Medical Examiners Lab in Ankeny for an autopsy and to be identified.
Officials say they are not certain how the person found inside the home died. They have not released any other details about the victim.
The State Fire Marshal’s Office is helping local officers to investigate the fire. Currently, the cause for this fire is unknown.
