One Injured in Shooting Near Hudson

BLACK HAWK COUNTY, Iowa - One person was injured in a Saturday night shooting near Hudson. Black Hawk County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a home southeast of Hudson around 10:15 Saturday night.
Deputies were told that four people had been Coyote Hunting that night. When they returned to the home, One person pointed his shotgun in the direction of another man and and the gun discharged.
The bullet hit 18-year-old Alex Bratten of Jesup in the shoulder. An ambulance took Bratten to Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo with a serious injury, He was later transported to University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.
The Black Hawk County Sheriff’s Office is still investigating the shooting. Deputies on scene were assisted by the Hudson Police and Fire Departments.
