Officer uses stun gun on Waterloo student

WATERLOO (AP) — Police say an officer who was head-butted by a student used a stun gun on the boy at Waterloo’s East High School.

Waterloo television station KWWL says the incident occurred Monday after the 16-year-old boy was seen wandering the halls. Police say the police officer and a campus safety officer asked the boy to go to class, leave school or face in-school suspension.

Police say the boy head-butted the police officer and punched the campus safety officer in the face. The police officer then used the stun gun on the boy.

The student’s name hasn’t been released. He’ll face a felony charge of assault on a police officer and a misdemeanor assault charge.
