Mason City Murder Defendent’s Lawyer Fined

MASON CITY, Iowa (AP) — One of the lawyers for a Mason City murder defendant has been fined $400 for contempt of court.

The Mason City Globe Gazette says Judge DeDra Schroeder found Letitia Turner in contempt on July 8 during the trial of Michael Cisneros, who was charged with killing a Mason City toddler in 1994. Cisneros was acquitted on July 14.

During cross-examination of the boy’s father, John Snyder Sr., Turner asked him about taking a polygraph test. The court had already ruled that the polygraph test was not to be discussed in front of the jury.
