CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — This warm Saturday didn’t turn kids away working out early in the morning.
Instead, a whole slew of them went out by Cherry Hill Aquatic Center in Cedar Rapids for the Hy-Vee Fit Triathalon.
Swimming, biking and running — these kids did it all as everyone on the sidelines cheered them on.
These kids even spent some time with 4-time Olympian triathlete Hunter Kemper.
We spoke with one kid who says this event prepared him for the sports that he loves.
“I do swimming in the winter and the summer and soccer in the spring and cross country in the fall,” said David Hebrink.
Volunteers worked at the finish line, handing out snacks and water for the kids participating in the triathlon.
