DUBUQUE, Iowa — The Julien Dubuque Bridge is back open for travelers between Iowa and Illinois.
Crews removed the barricades just before 4 p.m. Sunday and now the bridge is ready for traffic.
Crews have been repairing deck joints on the bridge. The Iowa DOT said that helps keep the bridge stable and secure.
This project actually finished a bit ahead of schedule. The Iowa DOT initially said the bridge would be closed until July 31st.
