IOWA CITY — Johnson County Friday afternoon lifted the remaining mandatory evacuation orders it has issued early this month because of flooding.
The county on July 2 ordered residents on about a dozen streets in rural areas to leave their homes because of rising water. This past Wednesday officials started lifting orders for specific addresses.
The county in a news release advised residents to use caution when returning to flooded properties. It said utilities may still be off and buildings may need to be inspected.
