ARLINGTON — According to reality television blogger Reality Steve, Iowan Chris Soules will be the star of the next season of The Bachelor on ABC.

Reality Steve tweeted on August 9, “(SPOILER): It’s official. Chris Soules will be the next “Bachelor.” Signed contract couple days ago & been filmed the last 2 days in Iowa.”

Chris first shot to fame on the most reason season of The Bachelorette featuring Andi Dorfman. Chris made it to the final three, but ultimately did not go any further.

Chris did make it to the famed hometown dates though. That’s when the bachelor or bachelorette visits the hometown of the final four remaining suitors.

For Andi, that meant a visit to Chris’ hometown of Arlington, Iowa. The Iowa date was complete with a visit to Chris’ family farm, a tractor ride and time spent frolicking in the corn. During the date, while the two sat out and relaxed, Chris had a special message for Andi from up above. A mini plane flew across the sky carrying the message “Chris loves Andi.”

During their conversation, Cedar Rapids was mentioned on national television. Chris told Andi she could work in the nearby big city of Cedar Rapids. Andi is an attorney from Atlanta.

Ultimately, Andi sent Chris home. She declared it wasn’t because she had a hard time imagining a life in Iowa. Instead, she simply said she had stronger feelings elsewhere.

Fans love Chris for his good looks, sweetness and sensitive personality. During the show, he wrote Andi secret admirer letters, leaving them unsigned at first. Eventually, he revealed himself as her loving letter writer.

He’s perhaps one of the best contestants at seeming honest, genuine and sincere when speaking to Andi and attempting to woo her.

Chris has been back to his Iowa roots this week. A Twitter handle @C_Soules, although not officially validated by Twitter, has photos of Chris at the Farm Bureau Cookout Contest at the Iowa State Fair. He also greeted fans at Strawberry Point during RAGBRAI.

While he was friendly, fun and down to Earth on Andi’s season of The Bachelorette, how he ends up acting on The Bachelor may change. He will date dozens of women at the same time while attempting to find one he will eventually propose to. The show ends with The Bachelor choosing to propose between two final female contestants. Along the way to the final rose, there are often hot tub encounters, dates that take contestants to far away places in Europe or the Dominican Republic and plenty of group dates involving questionable activities. If he is The Bachelor, fans nationwide also will learn much more about what life on the farm is like and what he loves about calling Iowa home.

The air date for the next season of The Bachelor has not yet been announced.
