Iowa Man Sentenced for Obscene Material

COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa (AP) — A 60-year-old southwest Iowa man has been sentenced five years in federal prison for using a computer to transport obscene material.

The U.S. Attorney’s office for the southern district of Iowa says Danny Joel Hummel, of Essex, was also sentenced Friday to 10 years of supervision following his release.

Hummel pleaded guilty to the charge on July 11. Officials say he was getting images in December from an off-site electronic data storage location while he was under the supervision of federal probation officers for a prior child pornography conviction.
