Iowa City Police Investigate Assault and Robbery

IOWA CITY, Iowa - Iowa City Police say a man was assaulted and robbed early Saturday Morning. Police say it happened near the intersection of Muscatine Avenue and 7th Avenue around 2:30 A.M.

The victim tells police he was walking home when he was approached by two black men. The suspects attempted to steal from him. One of the men punched him during the incident.

Both suspects fled the area in a behicle that was parked close to the scene. The victim described the suspects as being in their mid-twenties and wearing hoodies. One stood between 6 foot 1 and 6 foot 4 and was wearing a red hoodie. The other was between 5 foot 9 and 5 foot 11 with a gray hoodie.
