IOWA CITY, Iowa — An Iowa City man wants to feed the hungry in Johnson County by making pies.

“I just love pie, and this is taking off,” said Bobby Jett, the man behind “Bobby’s Pies.”

Jett is making homemade pies and selling them for $50. All proceeds go to the Crisis Center of Johnson County, where officials can purchase roughly $4 in food with $1 dollar through buying in bulk.

“It’s just a great opportunity to help feed the hungry, which is a real problem around here,” Jett said.

Jett said he has already received orders from Florida, Los Angeles and New York, and he’s already getting orders for Thanksgiving.

    “We’ll ship them!” he said.
