Iowa City Girl Scout Troop Makes Donation To Ronald McDonald House

Hard working Girl Scouts in Iowa City are giving families staying at the Ronald McDonald House access to a digital library.
Troop 5710 donated three new iPad minis, protective cases and a $125 iTunes gift card Monday to the House, which is a place where families of sick children can stay.
The girls raised more than $1,000 through Girl Scout Cookie sales and collecting cans and bottles.
Leaders at the Ronald McDonald House say the donation helps families feel like they’re at home.
We do what we can to give these families a home away from home, said Kristen Roberts with the Ronald McDonald House. This is one of those things where it may seem small, but when the families come back from the hospital, they can sit down, check out one, pick up a book, and read just like they would at home.
This year Troop 5710 sold more than 4,000 boxes of Girl Scout Cookies.
