Hundreds Participate in Flood the Run Event

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — Hundreds of people stretched out under the unrelenting sun this morning in the Time Check neighborhood of Cedar Rapids — to help the Salvation Army and Matthew 25.

But it’s no longer the “Run The Flood.” Now it’s called “Flood the Run” to take on a more festive and fun tone.

The race started and ended at Ellis Park, with the hundreds of runners also heading along a path toward Edgewood that dealt with high water just five weeks ago.

TV9’s Joel Girdner let us tag along.
