FORT DODGE, Iowa (AP) — A 28-year-old Fort Dodge man faces robbery, fraud, theft and several other charges.
The Messenger says Kearie Patterson is accused of writing more than $14,500 in fraudulent checks and robbing a man at gunpoint last month.
A Webster County jailer said Patterson remained in custody on Monday. Patterson’s attorney didn’t immediately return a call from The Associated Press.
Patterson is accused of wearing a ski mask and showing a gun to rob a worker outside the Liquor and Tobacco Outlet on July 11.
Police also say Patterson wrote a nearly $3,300 check from his closed Frontier Community Credit Union account to make a down payment on a car.
