Floyd County’s top prosecutor, Klemesrud, dies
CHARLES CITY, Iowa (AP) The top prosecutor in Floyd County, Normand Klemesrud, has died at the age of 67.
Fullerton Funeral Home said Klemesrud died Sunday at Hospice of North Iowa in Mason City.
Klemesrud was first elected Floyd County attorney in 1992 but resigned in 1994 to return to private practice. He was appointed to the office in early 2010 to replace Jesse Marzen, whose law license was suspended for six months because of an ethics violation.
Klemesrud was elected to the post again in November 2010. He announced earlier this year that he would not seek re-election.
