Firefighters Rescue 7 Dogs from Burning Home

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — No people were home but Cedar Rapids fire crews rescued 7 dogs from this home on the city’s northeast side after a kitchen fire.

Investigators say, after 12:30 p.m. today, they arrived at 1210 33rd Street NE and faced smoke coming through the front door.

The battalion chief said the 3 people who live there were not home but crews took a dog and six pit bull puppies out.

People at the home told us the puppies and adult female dog appeared in good health.
