SPRINGVILLE, Iowa — A house in Springville is a total loss but fire crews say 7 people in the house were able to get out in time.
The Springville Fire Department was called out to 404 Kelley Court, on the city’s north side, after 5:30 Saturday morning.
There, crews found the single-story building covered in flames.
Firefighters were on scene for at least 4 hours Saturday morning. Investigators said 1 person did suffer a minor injury when getting out of the house.
One person who lives there said a pet alerted family members inside the house. They immediately ran outside asking for help, when a neighbor called the fire department.
“When they arrived on scene, they had fire coming from the front of all the windows. They made a fast attack on the house to find out if they did have any victims. They found some family members and they were told that there was nobody inside,” said Patrick Hoyt, Springville fire chief.
Springville fire crews tell us they have not pinpointed a cause of the fire at this point.
