DUBUQUE, Iowa (AP) ó A former employee for Mystique Casino in Dubuque has sued the casino, claiming she was fired because she didnít dress more feminine.

Brandy Welterís civil lawsuit is seeking an unspecified amount of damages for lost wages and emotional distress, among other things. The Telegraph Herald reports her attorney filed the suit recently in Dubuque District Court.

Welter, a former marketing manager, claims supervisors encouraged her to wear more feminine clothing such as dresses and heels. She says she felt singled out because of her gender and sexual orientation.

A message left with Mystique was not immediately returned Thursday.

Welterís suit says Mystique cited performance issues for her firing in February. She says it was in retaliation for her complaints about the clothing suggestions.
