Dubuque Man Arrested After Spending Several Hours Negotiating with Police

  • Photo

DUBUQUE, Iowa A Dubuque man is in the Dubuque County Jail after he spent several hours on the roof of a Queen Street home.

Police arrested Don Puccio, 49, late Monday afternoon. He faces two counts of violating a no contact order and two counts of interfering with official acts.

Officers attempted to arrest Puccio for breaking a no contact order at a house at 2437 Queen Street around 7:30 a.m., Monday.

Police say he then ran away and escaped the arrest, but returned to the Queen Street house just before 1 p.m.

Authorities say Puccio climbed onto the roof of the home and made threats to harm himself.

A team of police negotiators blocked Queen Street for several hours while they negotiated with him.
