Damage Lingers from Monday’s Storms

ANAMOSA, Iowa — Signs of Monday’s storm persist in Anamosa, even two days after straight line winds and rain moved through.

Debris remains in front of homes, the side of city streets, and the Jones County Courthouse.

Grace Bohr says it’s still “a little devastating” to look out into her yard. “It’s like ‘Oh my.’ I’ve lived here for 19 years and I’ve never seen nothing like this kind of devastation,” Bohr said. Red Cross volunteers have been out in Anamosa and Olin offering clean up kids and food, and plan to return again on Thursday.
