DYERSVILLE, Iowa — If a person stacked all of the VHS Cassettes and boxes of the Field of Dreams out of the basements, attics and garages of North America, that stack could probably get halfway to the moon.
It’s a movie that — even 25 years later — is drawing thousands back to Eastern Iowa.
Legendary actor Kevin Costner still calls “Field of Dreams” a “high mark” in his career.
Costner was at the Dyersville farm that contains the movie site in Dyersville, Saturday.
He, as well as other actors from the film, are here to mark the 25th anniversary of the release of “Field of Dreams’”.
During a news conference Costner talked about the success of the film and how odd it felt saying one of its most quotable lines-”You wanna have a catch?”
“In your athletic life you have a way of saying things, and it didn’t come out of my mouth right. But, I thought, that’s what the guy wrote I’m going to go ahead and say it. I’m glad now, obviously, that I did,” Costner said.
Movie site officials expect 12,000 people will visit the field and farm house this weekend.
“Field of Dreams” opened in theaters April 21st, 1989, grossing more than 84-million worldwide.
