CORALVILLE, Iowa Coralville Lake began cresting late Tuesday morning, according to Dee Goldman with the Army Corps of Engineers.
It’s hitting that crest and now we are going to see the lake start to drop, Goldman said.
The lake fell almost four feet short of topping the emergency spillway, an event that has only happened in 1993 and 2008. The official crest was just over 708 feet, near where it crested during a similar scare in June 2013.
We really saw the lake do its job, it held back the rush of floodwaters, Goldman said.
