A lot of work has gone into creating this draft, including a series of meetings where people from all facets of the community where asked what they want in their town. What’s working, what’s not, what changes should be made. This draft is a result of that feedback. The plan includes housing, parks and trails, transportation, and more. Once complete the plan will guide city leaders for years to come.
”Our focus is out 10-20 years but it’s going to be a document we look at every year to make sure we’re in alignment. Things are going to be changing, we have to be ready to respond to any changes and opportunities,” said Jennifer Pratt, Interim Community Development Director.
The last time the city updated their comprehensive plan was 1999. Once the city collects the feedback from Wednesdays meetings they will create a final draft which they hope to present to the city council by late fall.
