CEDAR RAPIDS — A Cedar Rapids group is trying to help others with their fight against Ebola.

The Concerned Citizens Campaign to Prevent Ebola and Save Lives met Sunday night at Trinity Lutheran Church.

Members are trying to bring attention to this disease that has already taken the lives of over 1,000 people in Africa.

The group is also hoping to to get more people involved and to raise money to send to those in need.

For some members, this push is personal, as they have recently volunteered in west Africa.

“For me it isn’t just far away some place, I met these people, I know them, they’re friends,” Irene Reinking, a member of Trinity Lutheran Church said.

Trinity Lutheran Church is accepting money and medical supplies to send to countries impacted by this disease.

To make a monetary donation visit www.trinitycr.org or call 319-366-1569.
