CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — The USDA released the World Agricultural Supply and Demand Estimates Tuesday.
The report estimates a large soybean crop this year of 3.8 billion bushels, or about 45.4 bushels per acre.
Corn production is forecast at 14 billion bushels with a yield of 167.4 bushels per acre.
The U.S. will provide about $180 million to feed the people of South Sudan, according to the White House. The country faces the worst food security situation in the world. The money will come from the Department of Agriculture and the U.S. Agency for International Development.
