WASHINGTON - Bazooka Farmstar is going hog wild with growth. The Washington based manufacturer makes equipment they say makes manure management simple.
It’s there, and so we have to remove it, so why not put it back into the earth and use it as a fertilizer, said Eric Hahn, General Manager at Bazooka Farmstar. It moves liquid waste from a pit, through a lay flat hose, to a back of a tool bar, which then injects the liquid waste into the ground, which is fertilizer.
It’s a dirty job, but the equipment makes it easier for people to do it and be conscious of waste runoff from the fields.
Iowa has some of the strongest EPA rules with all the pig confinements, and therefore the direct injection is really popular in the state of Iowa, said Hahn.
Bazooka Farmstar has expanded into grain handling systems, and water transfer systems too. The demand in agriculture is growing along with the business. The business has customers in Iowa, the Midwest, and Canada.
The 82 employee company is expanding, just needs the right people to cut, weld, paint and assemble.
We’re actively looking for 15 welders right now as we speak, as well as some machinists and some final assembly people. And as we continue to grow we’re trying to staff our 2nd shift to be full, said Hahn.
