BUCHANAN COUNTY, Iowa — One person was injured in an early morning crash in Buchanan County. The Buchanan County Sheriff’s Office says the single-vehicle crash happened in the 2500 Block of 290th Street just south of Quasqueton.

The Sheriff’s Office says 19-year-old Colton Stoddard of Rowley was traveling east on 290th Street when he came up to the intersection of Quasqueton Avenue. That’s when authorities say he ran through the stop sign, crossed the intersection and entered the ditch. Stoddard’s car then went another 100 to 150 yards, hit a driveway, and then flipped onto its roof. Stoddard had to be removed from his car by the Quasqueton Fire Department.

Stoddard was taken to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City with injuries. The Buchanan County Sheriff’s Office is not saying how bad the injuries are or what his condition is. The crash is under investigation.
