CORALVILLE LAKE, Iowa — A boat sank on Coralville Lake Thursday night, prompting a warning from Johnson County officials.
The Johnson County Emergency Management Agency says the boat sank near an area of the lake known as “party cove” around 8:30 p.m. There were no injuries as boaters were wearing life jackets. A pump provided by North Liberty assisted in bringing the boat to shore.
Terrence Neuzil, spokesman for the emergency management agency said the incident serves as reminder for boaters to take caution with the swollen water this holiday weekend. He cautioned boaters to watch out for debris and wear a life jacket.
