GLENWOOD, Iowa (AP) — Authorities are investigating the death of a southwest Iowa man.

The Iowa Department of Public Safety says Glenwood police officers responded Wednesday to a report of an intoxicated and suicidal person. That person was later identified as 36-year-old Joshua Sandlin.

Sandlin was taken by ambulance to a Council Bluffs hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Glenwood police and the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation are investigating the death.

An autopsy was planned at the Iowa Office of the State Medical Examiner in Ankeny.
