IOWA CITY, Iowa — An Eastern Iowa artist is bringing parts of Chicago’s famed Wrigley Field to Iowa City.

Jeff McNutt is opening his art gallery to art and baseball fans alike this weekend.

McNutt has spent years collecting memorabilia from Wrigley Field and incorporating it into his paintings. He uses crushed brick from the stadium, pieces of original stadium seats, and other artifacts.

The 46-year-old says this project has been very special to put together.

“It’s been three years of research and building a relationship with Wrigley Field, and Fred Jacobs, who used to be the manager of Wrigley Field, all this is coming to a head, and getting to know the Chicago Cub fans, it’ll be interesting to see what happens on Saturday and Sunday,” he said.

McNutt’s Gallery is on Stevens Drive in Iowa City. Two other Chicago Cubs artists also will have their work on display.
