DES MOINES, Iowa - The data from the crop progress report out Monday shows corn and soybeans are slightly ahead of the 5-year pace. State Climatologist Harry Hillaker says itís still too early to officially say itís an El Nino year, even with the cool and wet weather.

The Monday crop report also showed last week was the first week since mid-June where farmers had over three days suitable for fieldwork.
