CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — Military veterans will have the opportunity to golf for free in Cedar Rapids as a gift for their service.

Twelve sponsors donated 675 rounds of golf for all active duty and honorably discharged veterans in Linn County.

Patriot Golf Week will begin on August 25th and finish up on Labor Day.

The week is set up for three of the city’s four courses: Ellis, Gardner and Twin Pines.

Cedar Rapids officials said this is a way to show their appreciation for their local veterans.

“To give to our veterans who have done so much for us and committed so much and really sacrificed in so many ways, it’s just a small token, it’s not overwhelming it’s just what we can do and we are very happy to be able to do it,” Cedar Rapids council member Ann Poe said.

Free golf and cart vouchers can be picked up at the Linn County Veterans Administration Office at 1240 26th Ave. Ct. SW.?
