Former ISU linebacker Jake Knott was one of 14 players released by the Philadelphia Eagles on Saturday.
Knott spent his rookie season last year with the Eagles after signing with the team as an undrafted free agent following the 2013 NFL Draft. He was facing a four-game suspension to start the regular season due to a violation of the team’s performance enhancing drug policy.
After learning of his release by the team, Knott tweeted the following.
Thanks to @Eagles for everything. Sad it’s over for now. Whoever decides to get me will be very thankful. #Motivated #Driven
As a rookie, Knott played in 12 games and recorded six tackles.
